A local resident of the East Bay, Laura joined BMC Elementary in Fall 2009. After graduating from a specialized math and physics high school, Laura obtained her B.A. and Masters Degrees in applied mathematics at Moscow's "Kerosinka". She brings unique expertise in mathematics education to BMC Elementary.

Jack completed his BS in Computer Science and Economics at Tufts University. He has worked with Berkeley Math Circle as an assistant for 5 years and specializes in teaching through strategy games and board games.

Kiran is studying math at UC Berkeley. He joined the Eugene Math Circle in second grade and has been involved with Math Circles for over ten years. Besides BMC, he works for the Berkeley Math Tournament and enjoys fencing and cycling.

Maria participated in Moscow Math Circle and later earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from MIT. She currently teaches at the University of Oregon and organizes the annual Math Festival for K-8 students in Eugene.

A University of Oregon graduate, Mason studies abstract mathematics, physics, and philosophy. He brings two years of math circle experience from Eugene Math Circle and has assisted at the BMC summer camp.

Natalie holds a BA in Math and Latin from University of Oregon. She worked at Eugene Math Circle for three years and now works in actuarial consulting while running an online piano studio.

Dave earned his Ph.D. from University of Michigan and held positions at UT Austin and UC Berkeley before becoming Associate Director at MSRI. His research covers geometry/topology, PDE, and mathematical physics.

Elena received her M.A. in Mathematics from St. Petersburg University. She specializes in mathematical risk modeling and teaches mathematics to elementary school children in Berkeley and Orinda schools.

Elena studied and taught at Moscow Math Circle before receiving her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. She develops Geometry Modeling software and shares her love of mathematics with BMC students.

Elysée (BA Mathematics, UC Berkeley) taught at math circles around the Bay Area and is now pursuing a PhD in mathematics at UC Davis.

Emily studied mathematics at UC Berkeley and taught in various Bay Area schools. She served as a master teacher at the Yleana Leadership Academy.

Teaching since 1981, Ilya received his PhD in mathematics from Moscow in 1990. His research focuses on integrable systems and analysis.

A graduate of Moscow State University, Ira worked as senior scientific editor at "Kvant" and later as a mathematics professor at Sacramento City College.

Studied mathematics and comparative literature at Columbia University. Worked at Canada/USA Mathcamp and explores intersections of mathematics with other disciplines.

PhD from Lomonosov Moscow State University. Taught at Moscow University, Higher School of Economics, Stockholm School of Economics, and mentored CS students at Stanford.

Assistant Professor at Kansas State University, specializing in representation theory. Started BMC Elementary while visiting Berkeley during her MSRI program in Tropical Geometry.

PhD from University of Minnesota, former postdoc at Perimeter Institute. Currently lectures at UC Berkeley, researching mathematical physics and string theory.

PhD in mathematics (1983) from Moscow State University. California resident since 1991, specializing in Computational Geometry. Author of "Elementary Geometry for Computer Age."

Professor at UC Berkeley since 1992. PhD from St. Petersburg University (1988). Research in representation theory and algebraic geometry. Teaching at BMC since 1998.
